Prayer for the Lord to conquer darkness:
Ephesians 6:10-18 English Standard Version (ESV)
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints…
“Dear Father, we pray you would clothe our children in Your holy armor. We thank you that You are fighting the battle for us. Help our children to stand firm in Your ways. Give them the grace to persevere in a culture bent on stealing their sexual purity and love for You. Amen”
Pray against fear:
1 Peter 5:7 King James Version (KJV)
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
“Lord, thank you that You care more for our children than we ever could! We ask You to ease our fears – knowing that You are an awesome Father, and we can trust You with these precious gifts You gave us. Amen.”
Prayer for our children’s future:
Jeremiah 29:11 English Standard Version (ESV)
11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
“Father, we thank you that in you we have hope and a future for our precious children. Lord, we pray our children would be strong in Your ways, and not be influenced by the evil we see every day in our culture. Let our children love you with all their hearts, souls and minds, and be faithful to You as their first love. Amen”
Pray for purity for our children:
Philippians 4:8 English Standard Version (ESV)
8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
“Lord, all around us we see influences that are anything but true, honorable, just, pure lovely, commendable, excellent, or worthy of praise. We see the daily battle our children are facing to keep their thoughts pure. The music, the movies and TV – only a few of the things that are constantly trying to steal their attention away from You. We ask you Father to hold the affections of our children. Let their focus remain on you, and give them courage to say “no” to the influences of the world. Amen”
Thank you for praying alongside us. As we end our time of prayer and supplication, let us remember this encouraging word from Ephesians 6:10:
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.
