Chatting . . . blogging . . . emailing . . . web surfing - today's technology plays an ever-increasing role in the lives of teens. Eyes Online, Eyes on Life is the story of a young man's journey out of an Internet obsession that led to online addictions. You'll see how relationships in the real world helped him find identity and purpose beyond the Internet and made it possible for him to break free from pornography, addiction to online games and endless surfing. Each chapter includes Scripture, tips and questions for personal reflection or small group discussion. by Jan Kern
What GOV Says: We like this book because it does an excellent job showing how online addictions are really a person's attempt to escape a situation. The young man in this book finds the lure of the internet much more interesting, comfortable, and manageable than his real life, so he escapes to this other world entirely. This behavior drains the purpose out of his life and he falls further and further away from God. It serves as a very good wake up call, especially for young people struggling with things like discontentment and depression. This book also gives a good picture of how God can pull you out of any pit you throw yourself into. The story is a testament to God's redemption. This is a great book for young men and women who have a problem with online addictions and for youth pastors, parents, and mentors who are helping someone with this problem.
